GOOD BETTER BEST:

GOOD BETTER BEST NEVER LET IT REST

TILL THE GOOD IS BETTER AND THE BETTER IS BEST!

That was the saying of my Junior and Senior High Principal.  He was promoted to High School along with my graduating Junior High class.  He said it so often for six years we could not help but catch it.  There comes a point in life when it is relatively easy to discern right and wrong.  Lie, or not.  Steal, or not.  Cheat, or not.  Choosing between the good, the better, and the best is not always easy.

I am currently serving as the Interim Pastor at First Baptist Church of Downey, CA on Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday.  I am formatting JumpStart on Tuesdays, and Thursdays.  Saturdays are for doing JumpStart Mentor Training at a growing number of churches.  Karen and I will share JumpStart at the ABC/USA Biennial in Portland the end of June.  ABCOFLASH is hosting a JumpStart workshop in October.  This past week I had breakfast with a great young man who works at a Christian College with 60,000 online students.  He educated me on the process for teaching an online class.  ABCOFLASH is working on a JumpStart pilot program in their churches.  TM is sharing JumpStart with churches undergoing assessments.  Four more translations are in process.

There is not a "bad" thing in this mix.  In January my prayer was, "Lord, what will I do?"  Now my prayer is, "Lord, what should I do and what should I not do?"  What a difference a few months make!

I do not remember when I was busier or happier.  Karen is learning "If it is Wednesday, it must be Downey!"  If it is Saturday, there is no telling where we are!

So here is a sincere prayer request for my JumpStart family.  Ask God to give me wisdom and discernment.  I want to preach, teach, pray, write, and train in the places of God's choosing.  My desire is to be faithful and useful to His Kingdom.  I want to obey and say with the Apostle Paul, "Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.  As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God."  2 Timothy 4:5-6

Paul uses the Greek word spendo.  To pour out, as an offering.  I want to pour out whatever God gives me wherever God wants me!  Please pray that He opens and closes the doors, and that I am discerning and obedient to follow, and make the most of all He has given me!  I covet your prayers, and your financial support.  They are both a blessing.    I love you all, and will keep you posted on what God is doing!

Gratefully,
Paul
